he Mad Hatters Cruise Club was 'dreamed up' by chance in December 2004 on a Canaries Cruise aboard The P&O Ship, Aurora. Mr David Parsons and Mr Graham Williams purchased hats at a local market in Funchal, Madeira,which were worn by the indigenous population. The two then wore the hats whilst walking the decks aboard ship, much to the amusement of the other passengers.

The Mission Statement of The Mad hatter's Cruise Club is as follows:

To create a friendly atmosphere on the ship and generate as much joy and laughter throughout the cruise without offending anyone

The Mad Hatter's Cruise Club (MHCC) now boasts ten members which cruise together as a group and carry a variety of approximately 40 different hats, collected from all round the world.

The members can be seen strolling the decks on a daily basis with amusing headgear on, to the general delight and amusement of the passengers
